It’s 7 years (and counting) of karaoke here…thats (taking into account nights off…..quiz nights…..too drunk etc) over 2000 nights of karaoke DJ’ing.
Even at a somewhat modest 20 songs a night thats more than 40,000 karaoke songs queued up and listened to.
In my opinion, it breaks down something like this:
Songs that are sung ok 38,000
Staggeringly brilliant 1,000
Beyond belief BAD 1,000
Songs I have enjoyed 40,000 (except Paradise By The Dashboard Light)
My least favourite Karaoke song? I think it’s probably Unfaithful by Rihanna. Awful lyrics, awful drab monotonous sound but the young girls love singing it. WHY ???
My favourite Karaoke song? That tends to change a bit with time. Probably April (a holidaymaker we haven’t seen for a few years…Where Are You April ??) singing Eva Cassidy’s Over The Rainbow will always be tough to beat. I will give it some thought.
